The great saga of the gods and heroes of the Vikings

High above the northern lands, where winter nights sparkle with dancing green lights and the wind howls like wolves, once stood the mighty halls of gods and heroes—the halls of Asgard.

The Beginning of Everything – A Fairytale Bedtime Adventure

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago. Everything was different than it is today. No one lived, no one laughed, no one woke up in the morning. There was no sun, no stars, no sound, no wind, no light—nothing but darkness. The darkness was called Ginnungagap, and it was so vast and deep that no one could say where it began or where it ended. In this infinite void, there was no time, no up, no down. Some say only imagination can wander here.

But then, far to the north, was Niflheim. This was the land of mists and cold. Everywhere, white steam rose from deep, icy springs. The wind sometimes sang softly, and sparkling crystals floated through the air. There was no warmth there. Everything was frosty and silent.

But in the far south, Muspelheim glowed. The land was full of blazing flames, splashing sparks, and crackling embers. The fire was hot, wild, and untamed. Gigantic fire giants danced and stamped so loudly that sometimes even the darkness trembled.

Where the icy cold of Niflheim and the blazing flames of Muspelheim met in Ginnungagap, the most wondrous miracle occurred: They began to wrestle and flow. The mists melted in the fire, and the fire hissed in the frost. From this struggle between cold and heat, something began to live—far greater than all dreams.
